Kordell R. Ballard
Major: Digital Media Productions
Masters: Education Technology
My introduction to the video production world started when my father's company was filmed for the show "How It's Made". Not only did I get to see the process of making a show from behind the scenes, but I also got to act in it. Several years later in High School, I took some video courses and discovered that I was quite decent at creating visual content. With that passion discovered, I went to the University of Central Missouri to get my Bachelor's degree in Digital Media Production. During those 3 and a half years, I worked in all manners of live production with the University from covering their sporting events to commencement ceremonies that were streamed live to viewers across the globe. I also spent time working for a company that worked with ESPN to stream college games to ESPN 3. Once I had finished my Bachelor's I decided to stay to get a Masters. Now it seems odd that I got it in Education Technology but with the way, technology is changing video production will just become more prominent and if I can learn how it works then I can create better products for education. During the Masters, I got to work with a Production House in the KC area in which I was able to put what I learned in my undergrad and my masters to work in harmony.
