Kordell R. Ballard

Major: Digital Media Productions

Masters: Education Technology

My introduction to the video production world started when my father's company was filmed for the show "How It's Made". Not only did I get to see the process of making a show from behind the scenes, but I also got to be apart of the episode. I went to the University of Central Missouri to get my Bachelor's degree in Digital Media Production. During those 3 and a half years, I worked in all manners of live production with the University from covering their sporting events to commencement ceremonies that were streamed live for viewers across the globe. I also spent time working for a production company that worked with ESPN to stream college games to ESPN 3. Once I had finished my Bachelor's I stayed to get my Masters. Now it seems odd that I got it in Education Technology but with the way technology is changing in the world at large, video content will become more prominent in the instructional and educational realm. During my Masters, I got to work with a production house in the KC area in which I was able to put what I learned in my undergrad and my masters to work in harmony.
